Discrete Assembly Example System 1

Delicate aluminum and paper components were precisely die-cut before being lifted and placed by a robot onto pallets. Pallets rode conveyor to stacking stations, where forty-nine individual parts were placed in final formation and wrapped. Project required several processes working in tandem, operating at 32 ppm.

The clarity of our design, decades of experience in making systems work together, and expertise in working within a Class 10,000 clean room environment made Aspect Automation the perfect choice for this client.

Key technologies included robotics, precision laser cutting, servo-driven cold staking, and laser measurement.

Materials included aluminum and Kraft paper.

Discrete Assembly Example System 2

Web-processed parts were inspected, sorted, stacked, and loaded into cartridges. Cartridges were then tested, barcode-labeled, and prepared for delivery at a rate of 17 ppm.

For this project, our client needed a partner who could handle complex web processing integrated into high-speed discrete assembly to produce a system designed to ISO and GAMP standards and compliant with 21 CFR Part 11. Aspect Automation offered a wealth of experience in precisely those areas.

Key technologies included robotics, ultrasonic welding, high-speed vision, SQL database, and GAMP design.

Materials included polystyrene singulated products and polystyrene injection molded cartridges.

Discrete Assembly Example System 3

A small plastic frame moved through twelve stations where parts of various shapes, sizes, and materials were mounted onto it at a rate of 60 ppm. After each addition, testing verified correct mounting and functionality.

Aspect Automation’s expertise in prototyping, process development, and product design helped clarify the client’s evolving needs to produce a system exceeding expectations.

Key technologies included heat staking, plastic forming, metal forming, handling from continuous web to discrete part, and online heat-seal integrity testing.

Materials included plastic, foil and film laminated web, rubber diaphragms and valves, aluminum crimp rings, springs, and steel ball bearings.
